Safeguarding Statement
Safeguarding Statement for The United Benefice of Farnham Royal with Hedgerley
The United Benefice of Farnham Royal with Hedgerley is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all members of our church community, especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We take seriously our responsibility to safeguard and protect those who attend our church services and events, and to ensure that all our activities are carried out in a safe and appropriate manner.
We follow the guidelines and policies set out by the Church of England, including the House of Bishops' Safeguarding Policy Statement, "Promoting a Safer Church". We have a Safeguarding Officer, who is responsible for overseeing our safeguarding policies and practices, and ensuring that all our volunteers and staff members receive appropriate safeguarding training.
All our volunteers and staff members who work with children, young people, or vulnerable adults undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, and we have clear procedures in place for reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns. We also have a code of conduct for all our volunteers and staff members, which sets out expectations for appropriate behavior and interactions with vulnerable individuals.
If you have any concerns or questions about safeguarding at The United Benefice of Farnham Royal with Hedgerley, or if you wish to report a safeguarding concern, please contact our Safeguarding Officer, Preston Brooker at preston.brooker@gmail.com
